Warm Up This Winter

There’s already been snowfall here in the UK, the Christmas lights in Ripon and Wetherby have been  switched on and everyone is trying to keep the cold at bay. We’ve rounded up a few of our favourite recipes, guaranteed to warm you up.

The legendary Hairy Bikers have an incredible all-in-one spicy pork & rice recipe. They say that this is a scrumptiously simple family supper with big flavours, which has 15 minutes of prep & 30 minutes of cooking time. Lean, tender pork with spicy rice and lots of veggies – what more could you want?

If you love the tastes of Korea, check out the Crazy Korean Cooking website. We’ve discovered this spicy pork bulgogi recipe which is essentially spicy marinated pork. The ginger adds a nice kick and the recipe allows you to tailor the ingredients to suit your spice preference.

The BBC Good Food website has an awesome recipe for slow-roast pork rolls with apple chilli chutney. Prep time is a simple 15 minutes however the cooking time is 6 hours. Don’t stint on the cooking time – it really is the key to meltingly soft, full-flavoured meat.

Here at Appleton’s Butchers, we’ve also created our brand new pork and chilli pies. They’ve got a bit of a kick and will certainly warm you up from the inside. Stay toasty this season and we’ll see you soon!
