August Bank Holiday Is Coming

Can you believe it’s nearly the end of summer? We’re more than half way through the school holidays, August is vanishing fast as September is fast approaching and the last public holiday until Christmas is on the way. How will you make the most of yours?

How about the last BBQ of the summer? Something epic, something that will have friends and family talking about it until Christmas dinner, something that puts you in the unofficial BBQ record books so people want to upstage you next year. Sound good? Well one of the main things is your meat selection. You’ve got to have the burgers and sausages, but if you’re going to do it, do it properly with meat and more from Appleton’s Butchers!

Make sure to have a buffet table in operation too, full of pork pies, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, Yorkshire pasties, roast ham, quiches and maybe a bit of home grown salad too.

Of course if you’re one of these people who won’t BBQ in the rain (just get an umbrella out!) you can always roast some pork, prepare a toad in the hole or even just cook your BBQ items in the oven. If you’ve got people staying over, make sure you’ve got plenty of our bacon in the fridge for the morning after, along with decent condiments and fresh bread!

Whatever you’re up to, make the most of the extra day; we will be, before our shops are both back to normal opening hours from September 1st. See summer out in style and bring on the Autumn months!
